The UB Administration has selected mass murderer Tony Blair as one of this year's "Distinguished Speakers." The University is paying him $150,000! And it will surely protect this war criminal from unfriendly questions by screening and censoring what the community can say to him, as it has when it invited other war criminals to "justify" their policies in the past (Madeline Albright, Colin Powell, Karl Rove, Wesley Clark). Please join the Peace, Justice, and Antiwar Coalition of Western New Yorkfor a protest on: Wednesday, October 7th, 7:00 PM at the Coventry Loop entrance to Alumni Arena at UB's Amherst Campus.

We are the Peace, Justice, and Anti-War Coalition of Western New York: A group of lay and religious activists from many walks of life. We share a commitment to ending the wars in Iraq, bringing the troops home, and beginning the process of rebuilding bodies, buildings, and shattered lives.
We also share a commitment to the classic idea of a university as a place where faculty, students and guests discuss important ideas and issues, face to face. We believe that free speech should be disrupted neither by shouting hooligans, nor by self-appointed censors who attempt to screen out written questions that worry them. |
